Compassionate Caring Ministries

Compassionate Caring Ministries is committed to raising awareness that many families silently mourn their adult child's decision to transition. We believe the faith community has an unbelievable opportunity to offer families empathy, compassion, & love, just like Jesus would.

We offer families the resources, care, & support to heal, rebuild, thrive, & give back. At the same time, we collaborate with faith leaders, churches, counselors,& private colleges to promote awareness that everyone who identifies as transgender deserves honor, love, & respect.

Care - Compassion - Courage & Commitment

"A new command I give you: love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (NIV, 2011, John 13:34-35).

“We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or a sister is a liar.  For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.  And he has given us this command:  Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister” (NIV, 2011, 1 John 4:19-21).

"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.  He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing" (NIV, 2011, Zeph. 3:17).

Over the last few years, the topic of transgender experience and identity has divided both the church and the wider culture. Regardless of a person’s personal perspective on gender transition, every parent of a transgender child needs resources that provide insight, encouragement, and spiritual support. In her new Compassionate Caring Ministries Workbook, Remi Smith provides these very things. This is a very helpful resource that weaves together the beautiful virtues of compassion, vulnerability, parental love, and a resilient faith in God.
